Our services

Our main service at TRADESENDE is translating written documents, especially in the three languages that give us our name: Spanish, English and German. However, as our professional network is constantly expanding, we offer translations to and from languages that are in most demand on the market (French, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Russian, Japanese, etc.). Furthermore, all of our translators have their own specialist fields (law, finance, marketing, medicine, IT, technical, etc.).

We also offer sworn translations and proofreading of written texts and several translation-related linguistic services:

•   Translation

Translation is our main activity at TRADESENDE. Every translation project entrusted to us is assigned to one or several native translators. We always work with trained translators that have a wide knowledge and vast experience in the subject area in question, whether medicine, law, marketing, IT or finance. As professionals that have been working as full-time translators for many years, we work with the sector's main IT tools (Trados, Wordfast). This increases our efficiency when working on large projects and ensures essential quality criteria, such as terminological consistency. Let us know your translation needs and we'll find a quick, high-quality, tailor-made solution with competitive rates.

•   Sworn translation

Sworn and certified translation involves an authorised translator stamping and signing the translation to certify that it is accurate and complete. Through this certification, public organisms are obliged to recognise that the translation has the same legal value as the original document. In Spain, it is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation that authorises sworn translators/interpreters.

•   Proofreading

Proofreading is a service that guarantees that the translation is of high quality. We always work with a second linguist who is responsible for checking and correcting any errors that the translator may have missed. The proofreader examines the translated text and compares it with the original text. If you were to require proofreading by a second specialist, you must remember that it is just as delicate an operation as translation itself. The proofreader's responsibility is so important, that the same amount of effort should be made in looking for a proofreader as a translator.

•   Transcription

Direct transcription involves transferring audio or video discourse to text, omitting irrelevant elements (noise, interjections, etc.). Bilingual transcription or translated transcription involves directly translating oral discourse to the requested language, without transferring the original discourse to text beforehand. This is a complex task carried out by a native translator. Depending on the type of oral discourse, a linguist of the original language may be required to give advice, guaranteeing accuracy and precision.

•   Subtitling

Subtitling is the translation of audio discourse to appear on screen. The resulting text is subject to certain space restrictions (generally a maximum of 70 characters) and its exposure time on the screen (a maximum of 6 seconds). These restrictions are dictated by the average time estimated necessary for a spectator to read them. Subtitling projects are carried out over four stages: 1) spotting - determining the subtitles' in and out times; 2) adapting or producing translated text depending on format restrictions; 3) simulation or checking that the synergy between the subtitles, image and sound are correct; and 4) correction: proofreading and changing possible errors.

•   Localisation

Localisation is the adaptation of a website, program or application to a specific market with a different culture to the one where it was produced. Localisation goes beyond translating texts, and involves adapting the product to all local market conventions so that its launch in the global market is really effective. Localisation can be really simple, i.e. adapting time and date formats, or more complex, such as considering cultural factors when prioritising certain content over others. At TRADESENDE, we have two advantages that ensure we offer an authentic localisation service: advice from IT and marketing experts for each project and native translators, guaranteeing cultural expertise.

Prices

All of our prices are based on standard rates for each language combination (higher for rarer languages and lower for more common languages). Before we start on your project, we will give you an estimation based on the source document (we calculate this using number of words, pages or minutes, depending on the service required).

When you accept the estimation, you will know the exact final cost of the service required and the time and date the project will be returned by email or postal service.
